Saucy Chicken Hearts..

Autumn is here, and its time to swap out leafy salads for soups and broths, this is always a happy time for me because I specialize in making and eating comfort food! Hahaha!

I don’t know if you’ve ever heard the saying “from the tooter to the rooter” which just means eating the whole animal, from the head to the feet. I unfortunately don’t eat chicken heads, but will eat everything else.
Fresh chickens are such a pleasure to eat, because of the fresh intestines you get to indulge in. I love everything, but especially the liver and hearts.IMG_4191-1

This recipe can be used on both. It’s saucy so you can eat it with bread,rice or mash. Carbs carbs carbs!! HEAVEN!

You’ll need :
800gs Chicken hearts cleaned
1 onion
1 clove garlic
2 small tomatoes or 1 large
Cayenne Pepper or Fresh chillies
Salt and Pepper
Oil to fry onions
Fresh corianderIMG_4190-1

How To:
Dice your onion,garlic and chillies and shallow fry on a low heat till they are softer.
Add your chicken hearts and allow them to brown. Add your S&P.
Add a cup of water and let it boil together on a medium heat, once it’s reduced by half, add your tomatoes and a 1/4 tsp of sugar, cook until your sauce has naturally thickened or reduced to a consistency you like. Add in your chopped coriander and serve hot!
